2ND LUNAR LOX FACILITY

Even though the LOX facility has now been completed, we will eventually need twice the capacity, hence the call for two LOX facilities.

We were able to place 21,000 kg cargo load to the lunar surface using 12 Reentry Vehicle (RV) flights and required 288 RV flights to complete.

Since the Lunar Vehicle (LV) landers are on the lunar surface, they can be refilled and "fetch" the LOX hardware for the 2nd facility.

A CV will deliver two 10,500 kg worth of cargo to lunar orbit on a "Put" mission. The two LVs launch and rendezvous with the CV and bring the the cargo down, each carrying 10,500 kg.

This scheme reduces the number of flights needed to complete the facility from 288 RVs to 144 RVs.

We will also use a 2nd set of astronauts, and will be rotated in the same manner as described in the previous section.

Once the 2nd facility is operational, a total of 16 LVs will be available every 91 days (The other 14 LVs will be used for the reagents and LH2 fuel).
