The VentureStar II will look and act like the original, only this version will be able to lift twice the payload as the original to the same orbital altitude and inclination. This will probably occur about 30 years after being fully operational when the shuttles are due for retirement.
We will double the capacity of the VentureStar Escape Module (VEM) to accommodate 48 tourists instead of 24. Nine people will still occupy the Overnight / Moon Ship seats, along with the two shuttle pilots. The total number of people on board will be 59 (the original shuttle will have 35 people total).
We will also double the size of both the space station and the moon base. The number of crew will also increase as well, which may require an additional officer rank.
